Color Triptychs, 2001 - 2002
This work emerged from my earlier Black & White Triptychs. I had been working at a mono-type press where I gained an appreciation for beautiful paper. With the miracles of modern technology I could now print my photos in color on rag paper. Meanwhile I was commuting daily on the complex system of Bay Area Freeways, as my interest and appreciation for them grew. Most of these images were shot from a freeway with 35mm color film, then printed digitally. The final ink-based Prints Measure 3’ x 6’.
